Unveiling a Unique Steam Demo: Controlling a Piece of Feces with the Goal to Reach the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is now live, and gamers have found numerous engaging independent titles. However, one catches the eye for its unconventional concept. Named Unko Technica, this classic-feel platformer includes a character that is actually a turd trying to navigate to a restroom. As a fun fact, "Unko" translates to "poop."

How you interact is simple: you only need a one button to leap. Throughout numerous stages, encounter tough enemies and visit a store to acquire outfits for your fecal avatar.

Plan your actions precisely, since one error forces restarting the level. Bounce using air pockets to hurl your character to new heights, cross fragile surfaces, and interact with triggers to unlock new areas. Collect coins to purchase challenging levels in which things ramps up.

Graphically, the game boasts vibrant level designs and a killer background music. Its minimalist graphics with morphing geometric shapes could recall players of beloved games like Earthbound.

Even though hard to think of similar titles where you are a dung character, interactive entertainment have long featured scatological themes. For instance, in Death Stranding, players make grenades from character waste. Examples include Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved use feces as fertilizer. Naturally, this theme shows up extensively in the South Park RPG The Stick of Truth.

Putting aside its goofy premise, Unko Technica has already earned significant awards, including winning at a major publisher's game competition in 2023. This trial version is accessible at present on Steam, with the complete version set to launch on PC this November.
